Training and opportunities
Why A Career in Accountancy at Dickinsons?
Dickinsons has over 20 years experience as a training firm. We have designed our practice to provide an opportunity for young people, who are highly motivated and ambitious to thrive in.
As a profession, accountants have and will always provide a service that will be needed, both in the UK and in the rest of the world.
We will enable a young person to mature through academic and practical experience and provide them with the tools to work in the Business and Finance sector.
As a small practice, we invest in our people and we manage their needs.
Our route over the years has resulted in successful careers for many people. Some, such as Natalie Spalton and Dominic Cader, have risen to be partners in our firm, whilst others may have left, but have continued their development in other accountancy practices, as partners, associates or managers. Other have moved into industry, and work for blue chip companies, in key roles in their finance departments.
All of our trainees start studying immediately with the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) aiming to achieve the NVQ Level 4 within two years.
Whilst we do not provide any guarantees, our trainees will then be offered an ICAEW training contract to continue as an ACA student to qualify as a Chartered Accountant within 5 years.
At Dickinsons you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience which is parallel to your studies.
The partners and staff support all of our trainees, as they can pass on priceless knowledge and know-how. All trainees will learn through working directly on client related jobs, the key aspects about accounting and tax. This will enhance their communication and business skills as we expect our staff to work with our clients and their needs.
